Our Goddess Fortuna
has been a very popular Goddess
since at least 640 B.C.E.
Many temples have been dedicated to Our Goddess Fortuna and she takes on different roles depending on the type of assistance requested by the petitioner.
Some of these roles are represented in different names as shown under the traditional Dates of Celebration on this page.
Many other roles are represented by numerous names to which celebration dates have not been attributed.
These roles include Fortuna Privata, Our Goddess Fortuna's aspect in our personal lives, and Fortuna Salutaris, who may hear our prayers for good health.
We believe these aspects of Our Goddess Fortuna may be petitioned privately at an altar in our homes, at any time, when the need or desire to pray arrives naturally.
Our Goddess Fortuna has been popularized in the Tarot Major Arcana Wheel of Fortune Card and is the original "Lady Luck".
While many people continue to believe Our Goddess Fortuna represents riches, wealth or, perhaps, gambling, her strength is in prosperity of the home.
Our Goddess Fortuna has traditionally been a champion for women and children and for happiness and success in interpersonal and family relationships.
Our Goddess Fortuna has been shown as an angel with wings, a regal figure on a throne, with a cornucopia filled with coins
or harvest.
Sometimes Our Goddess Fortuna holds a wheel to show the turning of fate and fortune, or a ships rudder, gently guiding our direction.
To the best of our knowledge, although sometimes Our Goddess Fortuna is shown with a blindfold, the reason has not been written in stone.
We prefer to believe that Our Goddess Fortuna hears our prayers and sees our best solutions in the mind's eye without the distractions of the real world.
It is our hope that Our Goddess Fortuna will bring you inspiration, and a kind, gentle and meaningful image on which to focus during your worship services.

petitioned for luck in our public image, choices and decisions,
as she continues to hear prayers for love and marriage.

Day of Fortuna Publica Primigenia of the Tres Fortunae
Our Goddess Fortuna may hear prayers for luck in childbirth and luck for the newborn infant, also including prayers for health, wealth, happiness.

Day of Fortuna Virilis
This is the second opportunity for to appeal to Our Goddess Fortuna for a successful career, happiness and fidelity in marriage, and children.

Day of Fortuna Virginalis (Virgo)
Our Goddess Fortuna may hear your wishes for luck of the newlywed and luck in marriage.
June 24
Day of Fors Fortuna
Our Goddess Fortuna may receive the prayers of the poor, unemployed and underpaid. She may strive to to improve financial situations for a beneficial wealth transformation.
July 6, July 14
Day of Fortuna Muliebris
On this day Our Goddess Fortuna may receive prayers to empower those who wish to speak publicly, for a peaceful cause. This day is traditionally significant for public speaking by married women.
July 30
Day of Fortuna Huiusce Diei (Huiusque)
For those praying for a higher power to help take one day at a time, we celebrate the present day. Our Goddess Fortuna may hear desires for miraculous changes which may happen withinone day's time.
August 13
Day of Fortuna Equestris
Our Goddess Fortuna may hear the prayers of the wealthy upper-class, including professionals who work with horses.
September 27
October 3 through 12
Festival of Fortuna Reducis,
Augustalia
Festival celebrations, music and games, honoring Our Goddess Fortuna for the safe return of family and friends.
November 13
Day of Fortuna Primigenia
This is a second opportunity to appeal to Our Goddess Fortuna with prayers for luck in childbirth and for the newborn infant. Runes or lots may be drawn for the baby's good fortune.
December 1
Day of Fortuna Muliebris
This is the final celebration of the year in which Our Goddess Fortuna may assist in public speaking efforts, for which she has been called, in the name of peace.

Day of Fortuna Redux
This is a day of prayers to Our Goddess Fortuna for the safe and healthy return of any of our loved ones, family and friends who are away from home, or afar in distant lands.

The Goddess Epona may be petitioned, in cooperation with Our Goddess Fortuna, for protection of loved ones in their travels.
